Irvin SD

The Irvin signature dreadnought is designed to be the bluegrass picker's dream as well as for those who love the dreadnought size and power. Designed to produce great presence of rhythm with ability to really dig into the lead riffs when needed. Its a big guitar with big sound.

Irvin Baby

The Irvin Baby, my smallest model to date, could be called the ‘mini-jumbo’ as it retains the same shape as the Irvin SJ but is reduced in its overall size by about 25%. The intent was to create a remarkable option for those players looking for a world class guitar that is unbelievably comfortable to play. Don’t let the size fool you, it is a little cannon, with the signature Irvin clarity, balance, sustain, resonance, and stunning volume.

lower bout 14

depth at heel 3

depth at tail 4

Sean Hall Signature Series SJ

Sean Hall signature series SJ

This very special project when Trevor Gordon Hall (no relation) introduced me to Sean. After a wonderful conversation and once he spent some time playing a couple of Irvin guitars, Sean collaborated with me to build him his own dream guitar with specs and design features he wanted, including a special logo inlayed on the 12th fret by Larry Robinson. Sean is an amazing percussion, fingerstyle guitarist and I built his guitar with all those things in mind. This is the result. Click here to go to the gallery section for more.

Check out, 'what others are saying' about Irvin guitars.

"My new Irvin guitar just keeps opening up as I play it. Great dynamic range. It holds the passion of songs together when I surge then rings true and clear in my most intimate moments. It helps me push beyond my capabilities. What a gift!" - Eric Stephen Bocks

what others are saying

"The first time I picked up an Irvin guitar, I knew I was holding something special. The attention to detail, the solid craftsmanship and stunning tone captured me immediately.  I feel like I am creating art with a piece of art in my hands. It is truly inspiring."  after a recent concert, "It sounded AMAZING! Much better than any acoustic I have played on a live stage!" -  Stephen Leiweke - Yackland Studio - Nashville, TN

"My signature series with Irvin is mesmerizing. The deep lows, tonal balance and crystal clear harmonics make it such an inspiring instrument to write and perform on. It feels solid and holds up well to the beating I give it with my percussive style of playing. Sustain for days. I swear it's still ringing in the other room. I can't recommend it enough!" - Sean Hall

"It doesn't get any better than this. I have no critique for this guitar."  -  Daniel Kohavi - Check out his band; "Wildeyes band"

“I’ve watched Wayne craft these amazing guitars for his customers for the past two years through his website and social media. After seeing the hard work and passion that went into every guitar, I knew he was the one that was going to build a very special guitar for me that would be passed down to my daughter and hopefully her children. I was right! It plays just as beautiful as it looks! Very grateful!” Brian Irvin - guitarist/songwriter, Florida

"In addition to being visually beautiful, what I love about Irvin Guitars is their sheer playability.  Acoustic feel with the ease of an electric.  Luthier, Wayne Johnson has a keen eye for detail without complicating things.  He knows when to let the beauty of the wood shine through." - Grant Ferris - Nashville based guitarist and composer.

"In a world where acoustic guitar builders are typically rehashing designs of yersteryear, Wayne brings something new and interesting. Functional necks and super balanced response across the fretboard makes his guitars really stand out."  - Austin Fields,  Nashville musician
